O listen to the silence
So gentle everywhere
Hear it, quiet, whispering
Yet softly through the air
Silence bathes the soul in peace
As calm serenity
Speaking to the heart through love
To soothe and comfort thee
None shall e`er be set alone
Who yet shall heed its call
For, deep within, its murmurs
Enrapture and enthral
It speaks to all so sweetly
Its secrets to disclose
It speaks in verses rhyming
It speaks in simple prose
Silence reigns in solitude
And though not ever heard
Within the mind it lingers -
You`ll know each fleeting word
The central paradox of personified speaking silence like keats' unheard melodies is great...Russell diagnoses the reasons of many of our social & personal maladies & says we have got issues because we have lost silence & solitude.
An absolutely delightful poem, Valerie. Extremely serene and relaxing.
Silence reigns in solitude And though not ever heard Within the mind it lingers - You`ll know each fleeting word its a twisted with new flavours wonderful
I had to return and read this again, and say it truly is as wonderful now as when I first came upon it.
NICELY PENNED.i have a lyric with the same title.i would be so glad to know u r opinion about it.
A priceless insight to something so elusive, wonderful, simply wonderful.
Wow! Again...this has such a wonderful, almost antiqated feel to it. The phrasing and flow are simply beautiful! Each line pulls the reader deeper into the next. This is just so gentle and peaceful. Really beautiful!
