Silence

Silence please......
Shhhh....
I repeat....shhh
Can you hear that?
That is the beauty of silence
Can you feel it too?
How about it?
The walls too, could be enjoying, with so much laughter,
The silence.
But hold on!
Silence!
Beautiful?
What is silence anyway?
What behind it?
Solitary, pain, joy, hope..
Silence please give me answers,
Why do you take over?

Oh! Yes! Maybe
It is time need be
For rest
It's 2.50am!

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I wrote this poem at 2.50 am. I was studying for a final and everything seemed so quiet. The silence inspired me to write.

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

"Oh Day of Fire and Sun"
by Sara Teasdale

Oh day of fire and sun,
Pure as a naked flame,
Blue sea, blue sky and dun
Sands where he spoke my name;

Laughter and hearts so high
That the spirit flew off free,
