Silence Is A Sea Poem by Paul McCann

Silence Is A Sea

Tai Chi on the beach.
As I gently reach.
My hands to the sky,
I see with my eye,
A resting sea gull.
Beside a rock pool.
Waves on the ocean
In gentle motion,
I gaze at the sea
not specifically
at America
but Utopia.
Or that direction.
Then in reflection,
I’m moved to a prayer
In thanksgiving there.
I bless the beauty,
Of the world I see.
This presence, God’s grace
Like light on my face,
It enlightens me .
Performing Tai chi.
I escape the noise.
The city employs.
Silence from the crowds,
Sunshine in the clouds.
With joined hands I reach
Silence within speech.
So in relation
To God’s creation
It is beautiful
I am so grateful.
