Silent Or Silenced Poem by Michael Timothy Rose

Silent Or Silenced

Down on you knees.
Hands outright. So I can see them.

Down on your stomach.
Hands outright. So I can see them.

Up against the wall.
Hands outright. So I can see them.

Guards! Drop you weapons. Kick them over.
Hands outright. So I can see them.

Nearly no one could speak
Or even act
In very dread of what had been said.
No one measured the impact.
But were silent.
Or silenced.
