Sinner's Prayer Poem by Walter Lane

Sinner's Prayer

Rating: 4.8

Dear God, I need your help so badly
I am so ashamed
For I have broken the commandments
Given in your name

I have cheated, lied and coveted
Other people's things
Adultry I committed and
Stolen many things

I've cursed your Holy Presence
And used your name in vain
But thought I had a great excuse
And blamed You for my pain

I've called upon Your Son Jesus
To help me in my plight
And then went out and committed
More sins that very night

I do this over and over
Why I can't explain
Does it have to do with the devil
Has he got my name

If this is the case Lord
Please help me, I do pray
For I cannot live like this Lord
Day after sinful day

Everyone sins... In ways you wouldn't believe... Don't be so self destructive, darling.
