Sisters Poem by Aimee Pruitt

Sisters

Emotions spinning and spiraling from love to hate and back.
Everything seems black and white, no gray, no prism of color.
A word, a glance, an attitude thrown in the wrong direction.
Secret remorse and the smallest measure of guilt.
A sigh, a batting eyelash, sweet youth and vibrance.

Camraderie an unspoken bond, a shared confidence.
Sunshine- innocence- a warm breeze.
A stumble! One misplaced step.
A monster snapping and snarling spitting venom on all who come near.
Dread- despair- emptiness.
A tearful conversation and a tenuous truce.

Aimee, I know where this comes from - it is a knife-edge emotional maelstrom which bodes intensity beyond all other experience. But it is so real. The form you use and your choice of imagery contributes to this graphically great piece. Rgds, Ivan
