Slavery Was Not A Choice Poem by Hebert Logerie

Slavery Was Not A Choice

Slavery was the worst crime ever committed
Against humanity
Slavery was an insult, a major sin, a tragedy
A carnage against innocent human beings
Slavery was the worst sin ever committed
By racist and selfish men and women
Who are now rotting in hell
Slavery was NOT a choice, an omen
A prize, a reward, a bail, a bell
Slavery was hell on earth
That's why Blacks are still stigmatized
Discriminated against, lynched, humiliated
Robed, raped, tortured and ostracized
Slavery is hell on earth
Slavery was the eeriest crime ever committed.

My people are still suffering
My people are still hurt
My people are lynched, maimed, killed or murdered
Our brothers and sisters are beat and destroyed
We cannot let jerks, clowns and perverts
Minimized the sacrifices, the stings
Of countless bees and ants parading
On the bodies of our ancestors
Perhaps the racists, the criminals, the murderers
Had a choice. They were heartless. Slavery was cruel
Slavery was, and is still repulsive, criminal
Abnormal and satanic. The libraries
Are full of images of our tortured brothers
And sisters. Slavery is full of tragedies
Our ancestors have fought to death against slavery
The internet is full of real and vivid stories
Shut up! Shut up! Study your history
Before showing your ignorance
About the struggles, the fights
For equality and acceptance
Our people have endured and fought
Dummy, hold your stupid thoughts
Our people are still struggling and fighting
Our people are still suffering
Slavery was NOT a choice
Slavery was NOT a choice
Slavery is still relevant
Until today, until the present
Time
Slavery was a crime
Slavery is a crime against human beings.

Extremely moving write. There have been so many sad movies of slavery and racism. Also these people being wrongly accused in other circumstances. It has been a disgrace and there are situations particularly in America that still are. Thank You for your words. I wish you the very best.
