I close my eyes to sleep, to dream
Another day gone, another night coming
As my breathing slows, so too does my heart
But something is different
I've seen too much, too much to dream
Life is short; live it well
The bells ring for the occasion
Happy or sad, for whom does it toll?
Mortality knocks, too scared to dream
Too scared to close my eyes
Too scared to sleep
God says not if I will wake
