Sleep Will Not Come Poem by Oleh Wolansky

Sleep Will Not Come

Sleep will not come as swiftly as prescribed
By the normal functions of biorhythmic activity
Slightly induced by the consumption and subsequent prolonged enjoyment of
Un-prescribed chemicals that flow in the stream of this world.
Unfortunate or fortunate: the time?

5am the call of the…
Some inchoate object-being that is worshiped like the weather, so that it changes from time to time.
Undulating rhythms of active neurons are implacable,
And lust for the whims of catchy supplication,
Taken in any form that distracts forever from any serious endeavors.

The sweet smell of tea distracts the supine body in the hallway.
