Sleeper Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Sleeper

You can’t take the
Kid from the
Nightmare?

Be one with the
Pangs of devilish
Dreams,

Or steal them away.

Send me to sleep.
Envelope me with the
Tangerine blankets,
And croon your
Lullaby -

Inevitably, sleep
Will take me to
Safety and an
Enthralling seclusion

While you are
Taking a tremendous
Beating in your
WAKEFULNESS.
