Temptation never keeps away
the taste of those who crave for it;
as she grew, many luxuries she had
and only a caution not to spin,
not to let any needle poke her finger
was all that she had to never forget;
but little did she care to remember the curse,
suddenly without awareness of what might be
she got on the spindle without any forethought,
the pricking of the needle while she was spinning
made her to fall into the deepest slumber;
and as she slept, so did all the others
guards and cooks, maids and servants
all into a deep slumber retired without nightfall,
as Aurora had erred and forgotten
that she should never let any needle prick her;
and many many years slept all
till the palace into a jungle merged
as long creepers, weeds and ferns adorned the walls;
until suddenly on a midsummer's day
came a prince charming and found his way
into the castle where the guards slept snoring aloud;
the prince found his way to the bedroom
where Aurora lay in a deep trance of calmness,
enchanted by her beauty, he kissed her gently
the curse was lifted and Aurora awakened
temptation had paid its price;
love had also earned its victory as the prince smiled
and asked Aurora to be his bride.
Enchanting tale and told so well; it cannot fail to hold a spell.
