Sling Of Slings

Moses brought victory through a rod
David, five stones and sling
A boy gave fish and loaves to God
Who’s glory now we sing

The giant came in armour clad
In hand, both lance and sword
Against him stood a mere lad
In glory of The Lord

Through faith; Goliath soon lay dead
His eyes a wondering glaze
He lost his sword he lost his head
And God found endless praise

He’s King of kings He’s Lord of lords
He’s First & Last of things
The Rock of ages Sword of swords
And Sling above all slings

The risen Christ is Lord of all
The Priest who’ll never die
The Rock on which so many fall
The Living stone on high

So let us rise and understand
Seek not to fight alone
The sling within king David’s hand
Was nought without a stone

There’s no more time to sit and dream
The devil’s out to kill
God stones He lays within life’s stream
He’ll use to do His will

We too for Christ can be a stone
A sling in Jesus’ hand
Against the devil flesh and bone
Can fill The Promised Land
