Trust the slowly moving turtle
as along the plain he staggers,
never much inclined to hurtle,
rolling like a stone of Jagger's,
gathering no moss, it's true,
slower than the hare that's hasty.
Give both of them, of course their due,
and, even though they both are tasty,
survive at very different speeds,
the turtle tardy, hare more speedy,
careless of each other's needs
and of the humans who are needy.
