Snow Balls In The Freezer Poem by Abby Kimball

Snow Balls In The Freezer

Let’s go home and get this over,
Before we push it all back,
At long last it's been said, what’s been hidden in your head,
Don’t shove it back down,

Lift my heart back off the floor,
Pull your back and,
Set reality back in the cold
Let your life begin,
And try to hide the you're dead again
Peel back another layer of your skin

Your pretentious words and tricks don’t fool me,
I’ve seen you sleep,
You think that I don’t see,
All the hopes you say you trash but keep,

I hold my heart out,
Please don’t please don’t break it much,
I know I’ll regret it one day,
Complain and such

I’ll get cold wearing nothing but your snow,
The glares and contempt you’ll keep,
Will start to show,
In the middle of the week,

But I will only remember,
The sweet nothings you said in December,
When the snow was on the ground,
And your heart was beginning to thaw,
