So Am I Poem by Dónall Dempsey

So Am I

Rating: 5.0

Awkwardly quiet.
We sit tight.

Not talking.

Sulking.

Ouch!
You pinch me!

I choose to ignore you.

You glower
at me

as if to say
how dare you ignore me
especially when I’m pinching you.

Ouch!
Now you bite me!

You stare
daring me to ignore you!

My flesh smarting
your sharp little teeth
turning back into a smile.

I laugh.

“Ah, so..Mr. Stuck-Up
I got your attention at last! ! ”

“Yeah...! ”
I say.

“Well…I was afraid
the next time
you would eat me! ”

I say smilingly sucking now
your little toe.

“Mmmmm! ” you squirm
drowning in pleasure.

“I’m glad
that you’re my man! ”

“So am I…so am! ”
