So Little Of Our Life Really Remembered Poem by Shalom Freedman

So Little Of Our Life Really Remembered

SO LITTLE OF OUR LIFE REALLY REMEMBERED

So little of our life really remembered Almost all we have lived is as if it never were-

We cannot really live again in all its fullness
The life we have known-

Memory is a shorthand
And what we write with it

Always a somewhat different poem

Than the one we have lived.
