So Much Time Wasted Poem by Persa Corbalokovic

So Much Time Wasted

I wish I am made of such matter,
To feel comfortable with own patter
On how convenient it is to bomb.
‘Two bold men fighting over a comb! ’
It seems so easy - they simply don’t care
Their only issue, easily solved, is to dare.

It doesn’t matter who’s been killed or hurt,
They are but aims on screens, planet’s dirt,
Just the statistics to prove their own way.
Unconcerned with what they would say,
They live their generals’ whims at a time,
Made unaware that each killing is a crime!

So much time passed – thousands of years,
And we’re still fighting with elementary fears
How to survive, what to eat, where to sleep.
In search of power they’d better look deep
In their hearts and stop selling this product
‘Come with me and die! ’ – stop to abduct

Sons from their mothers, fathers from sons,
Husbands from wives – they are just tons
Of flesh, that cannot claim ‘We have won! ’
