The Kiss That Saved My Life Poem by Persa Corbalokovic

The Kiss That Saved My Life

What would have happened,
If you had actually kissed me?
I believe, feel it in my heart,
I would have simply died!
As you actually didn’t care!

Die inside, of that lasting desire,
Of ignominy for not hiding love,
Love that appeared so suddenly,
And riveted me overwhelmingly,
Though you actually didn’t care!

Die of woe you couldn’t fathom,
How much I needed that kiss,
To survive the pummeling sings
From inside that it had to be you
And you actually didn’t care!

Die as that kiss would have been
My biggest victory and defeat,
My praise and my calamity, as
I knew I was but a nullity to you,
Since you actually didn’t care!

Die as I had been dreaming
About that kiss too, too long.
BUT you have never kissed me!
So, I’m alive and can love again.
Not you, because you didn’t care!
