Social Etiquette Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Social Etiquette

Remaining to stay transfixed,
To times that no longer exist.
Has brought a stale mate to progress.
And a future sought to seek.
From a past to have lived.
Yet kept within reach.
Although from appearances,
Many will claim...
More diversity has been applied.
Yet...
Those in positions to make these decisions,
Still base them on ideals.
And what is suitable,
To a social etiquette kept to represent...
A European flavor.
With an acceptable and improved,
Renovated window dressing of it.
Leaving a future sought to seek,
Relatable.
And comfortable for those,
Choosing to pick their version of diversity.
To ensure the availability,
Has been conveniently exposed.
But progress,
And the future of it...
Has still a long way to go.
When and if judgements to pass,
Are buried to assist...
The growing of grass.
