Soldier's Funeral Poem by jackilton peachum

Soldier's Funeral

Rating: 4.0

(after the photo)
Parson contends, “Animals have no souls–
therefore, cannot enter Paradise! ”
This dog here puts false to all that,
lies facing the coffin wherein his companion,
killed in some far off Afghanistan–
head between his paws, attendant as any mourner,
nose pointed indicating quite clearly–
he sees all too plain the direction of Heaven
