Solitary Confinement Poem by Sandra Black

Solitary Confinement

Rating: 3.5

As I sit in my solitary confinement
I ponder the following points of refinement

I am thankful that you do what you do
Even when I the most awful venom spew

I am thankful for each moment each day
When you offer me your thoughts arrayed

In a Snowhite platter does he bring
Laughter and ideas and songs to sing

He serenades me with them somehow
He then pushed away gloomy thoughts above

A warm kiss and a hug
Cannot expect more and be smug

When atlast he does leave
To him I do shamelessly cleave

I do have to say goodbye
Cause in confinement I will surely die

If one more thought of losing you
Does pass my mind & leave it askew

Come soon again my heart doth plead
But he would I know never take heed
