Solitary Voice Lost In The Night Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Solitary Voice Lost In The Night

Lost
In
The
Night
A
Solitary
Voice
Sings
Now
Rises
High
In
Joy
Now
Sad
Hear!
It be passing
In yonder
Country lane
And between the walls
That soils and fields
Retain
It rises silver as the
Pleasant moon that
Smiles:
And the winds
Wafts
Towards the
Seas and cliffs
That in the dark
Loom still white
Hear!
Hear!
The voice and the song
Continue:
And so the moon
The stars
Night still
Has to become
Deep and it be low
The song continues
From between field-walls
