Somebody That I Used To Know Poem by Halie Wilder

Somebody That I Used To Know

I remember when I was younger,
all the things I never knew.
And when I aged a little,
I got the little clues.

I started to do all your jobs,
like feeding and watching your kids.
I started feeling pushed aside,
like I almost didn't exits.

A couple years later,
you said, 'Give me a chance.'
But it was too much to handle,
Like this game was too advanced.

So here we are again today,
I hope you have some Christmas cheer.
For you will try again and again,
Each and every year.

A well articulated piece of poetry nicely penned from the heart with conviction. Thanks for sharing.

Well written, especially 'exits', made me stop and think
