Someday Poem by William Brooks

Someday

As I'm in my room alone and in the dark
My thoughts start to wonder as I lie awake.
Thinking of you, wishing I had the strength, the courage
To someday ask for your hand in marriage.

I know that day is a while to come
For right now we are too young.
Just know that I love you
And someday what I write will come true.

While the intesity of the cold is matched only by the wind,
We must say good-night once again.
So for now, sweetest of dreams and bests of nights
I swear to you, I will prove these words right.
