Something Died Poem by Annette Aitken

Something Died

Rating: 4.3

Something's died

I'm numb inside

I use to smile at morning rise

starting the day anew

But:

Something died

I'm numb inside

I use to laugh until I cried

hurt so much I'd split my sides

But:

Something died

I'm numb inside.

I use to sing to any song

make words up that didn't belong

But:

Something died

I'm numb inside.

I use to wait in anticipation

for loving arms felt so embracing

But:

Something died

I'm numb inside

I wish for life to return to normal

Where nothings died

And I'm alive inside.

Nice poem and very heartfelt. Until you've experienced depression you can't fully understand how debilitating it can be.
