Something New Poem by Nathan Smiths

Something New

It's getting late on this beautiful night,
And soon the planets will align,
This is the moment that I say,
I am yours and you are mine.

Our dance among the shadows,
Brought light into my world,
A moment so peaceful,
We did not utter a single word.

This was not a passing lover,
This was something new,
These words rang in my head,
As we danced in the fresh morning dew.

Like simple drunkards we rambled,
All throughout the night,
I knew that this time it was different,
It was something new, something right.

And as we danced on that beautiful night,
And our feet moved through the morning dew,
My heart slowed and I said to myself,
I found something different, I found you.
