Treasure Island

Heather Burns

Sometimes!

Sometimes!

I would love to
wake up
feel your warm
body
lying close to
mine
listen to you
softly breathing

Sometimes!

share a cup of
coffee
perhaps a biscuit
chat about the
days events

Hold your hand
stroll by the lake
watch boats
entering and
leaving the harbor

Mother duck protecting
her babies as they
swim by

Sometimes!

sit with you in
the pale moonlight
reflecting on our
life together
enjoying the moment
sharing dreams.

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
