Rookie - 149 Points (Motown)

Sometimes a gentleman soldier from an ancient land
sometimes a great king, filled with wisdom
sometimes an angel, patiently looking on
sometimes a close confidant like a comrad in arms
sometimes an oxford scholar absorbing truths to be found
but he is always
one of my favorite people to be around

sometimes a strong athlete with graceful movements
sometimes he's a kid, easy to laugh and joke with
sometimes like Santa making things fair and equal
sometimes he's a teacher giving the world to his pupils
sometimes the poet with romantic imaginings
but he is always
everything I could ever want a man to be

sometimes he leads people without their knowing
sometimes he is the reason that keeps others going
sometimes, the protector of what is good and right
sometimes I dream that he kisses me awake at night
sometimes his soul whispers to the deepest place in me
but he remains
far beyond my reach
