Sometimes Poem by Randy McClave

Sometimes

Sometimes I like being all alone
Where the only connection is the phone,
And if I ever need or want any company
I can just call them, or they can just call me.
People seemingly always ask me just to help them
And always at a moment's whim,
Then they put my needs and wants on the highest shelf
That's why I enjoy being by myself.

Sometimes I enjoy being single
Then I can pick or choose with whom I wanna mingle,
I can go out with whom ever that I want on a date
And never ever worry about a jealous roommate.
I now go out wherever that I want to dine
And putting myself first is always fine,
Anywhere that I want to I can go or come
Many times I enjoy being lonesome.

Sometimes I like being solo
Wherever I want to go to, I will always go,
And I don't like to carry other peoples baggage or gear
And I will never follow, but steer.
I like to dress the way that I wanna dress
Only myself do I need to ever impress,
I love my life being adventurous and splendid
And I am also satisfied in being unattended.

Sometimes I enjoy being unattached
I truly enjoy being unmatched,
I enjoy doing the things that I only enjoy to do
Where people that I know don't even have a clue.
Sometimes I like to go out and get on my boat
And at the pier upon it, I enjoy to contemplate and float,
Then when the day has come and the night has gone
With myself, I enjoy being number one.

Sometimes I enjoy being in my own solitaire
When only about myself do I need to worry or care,
And when my problems I need to ever unravel
I then board a plane, and then alone I travel.
Sometimes I watch the couples holding hands on the street
Sometimes I talk to happy couples that I meet,
Now with my heart and not my soul I sometimes comprehend
Then sometimes, I wish that I had myself a faithful girlfriend.
