Sometimes It Takes Excruciating Pain Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sometimes It Takes Excruciating Pain

When people stubborn,
Continue to repeatedly refuse...
Opinions and better decisions made.
Although they may be deluded by visions.
And haunted by heroes adoring capes.
With it wanted to appear,
They are competently prepared...
To move forward.

Yet choose to ignore they do reality.
And...
The presence of brick walls installed.
Purposely to strengthen,
A frame of steel encased in concrete.
Those offering,
Not only their experiences and expertise.
Should not at the least feel guilt at all,
To recommend and suggest to those who sit...
Stubbornly qualifying themselves,
As born geniuses.
That perhaps a using their thick heads,
Against brick walls installed.
Will be a quicker way to prove,
A success to achieve.
Without debating what they can do.

Leaving the ones who are truly wise,
Standing by with medics to have called.
Anticipating a self inflicted blood bath.
They could with patience,
Convince unnecessary to avoid and prevent.
But decided amongst themselves...
Common sense to teach it,
Is a personal experience.
Sometimes to come,
After excruciating pain is felt and done.

"Medics?
Sorry for the wait.
However...
We did all we could.
To speed up the time wasted.
There may be a few still left unconscious.
But we are hoping,
The leader of the pack has acquired amnesia."

No pain, no gain, they say, but I can't agree with that. Well written. Please read and comment on my latest, " Silent Phantom" . Thanks.
