Songs For Georgia: #5 Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Songs For Georgia: #5

You told me with such vim
That when a soul fragments
Through the chaos of trouble,
A part of it searches, squanders
All over the world -
Such bizarre truth
In this tempestuous place.

The machinism of the clocks,
The death of the trees,
The petrification of the romances,
And the putrefaction of the streets
Have no claim over us.
We are infinite -
Until we break each other
Again - love or no love,
Rue or no rue,
As we flail through the madness.
