Sonnet: Corruption –modern World’s Main Foe Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Corruption –modern World’s Main Foe

A war is raging right across the globe
Against corruption –modern enemy;
The roots can’t be discerned by any probe;
Most men are victims of this malady.

The ‘virus’ enters genomes of most men,
Producing havoc in their hearts and minds,
And turns conducive, safe, secure haven;
Then changing them for worse, it always binds.

Corruption is the evil prime these days,
And gains in-roads in every sphere of life,
Affecting men, who lose their righteous gaze;
Yet, people live in squalor and much strife!

This foe must die if people must live well;
If not, this world’s a veritable hell.
