Sonnet: God Is Our Real Strength Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: God Is Our Real Strength

Our human strength of body, mind and heart
Is good enough to pull off many feats;
We then believe that we can on our part
Get successes and wins, and not defeats.

Yet, human beings fail so many times;
We have our limitations and set-backs;
We have our failures and our winning climes;
But faith in God is what human-kind lacks.

The real strength is grace of God always;
Our human efforts fail to bring us wins;
God helps the righteous timely in His ways;
Our strength can fail if we indulge in sins!

King David found his strength was God Himself;
Let man have faith in God and not in self!
