Sonnet V Poem by Juan Olivarez

Sonnet V

What shall I say, of my beloved's eyes,
That sparkle when she smiles.
Reflections of sweet butterflies,
As innocent as any child's.
Windows of the soul, is what they are,
Or at least that's what they say.
In your amber eyes I see as far,
As heaven, on the clearest day.
Let your amber eyes rest on my face,
Let them caress my soul.
I am enchanted by their gentle gaze,
So serene and yet so bold.
The eyes of my beloved wax divine,
As they grow older, just like wine.

Very, very beautiful- I especially like the line 'Windows of the soul, is what they are'- A lovely way to think of eyes! Well done- at 10 Claudia
