Sorrow Poem by Fiona Sunny

Sorrow

’Tis hard to talk about; hard to let out
Hard to be forgotten; hard to laugh out
’Cause a tear in the eye, about to say bye
Cannot stay in anymore and quietly leaves out

Your heart may be the one of stone
Or of gold, but when it’s lone
Not rock nor metal; not seed nor petal
Can calm the change of your heart’s tone

Sooner or later when a scolding may rise
When a harsh word’s imparted or truth’s spoken wise
Like a flickering fire dies; like the weeping of ice
So does the heart melt into its blood – its cries

With a shocking heartbreak is a departing soul,
A paralyzing bone and a crestfallen mind ole
If only ‘I’m with you’ replaced ‘I miss you or hate you’
Then a shame wouldn’t be the knot tightened by all.
