Sortacurious Poem by Ramona Thompson

Sortacurious

Such a cold hearted bitch she is to both family and friends
Over and over and over again denying to herself the truth
Revealed in her own reflection all too real and painful to see
Tears her apart inside to read these words knowing that every single
one of them is right
All alone she wonders just where she went wrong when someday her
lover walks away without even a backward glance
Cutting deeper and deeper with each hateful cruel word she spews
she digs her own grave
Understanding but refusing to admit that her lousy life is all her fault
and no one else's
Running away but she can't hide forever she knows from the monster
she truely is inside
Insecure child screaming from behind a bitter woman's eyes scares her
Only longing to make herself feel better she lashs out at those around
her
Useless but somehow smoothing to her to try and deny the truth until....
Suddenly with a light dawning in the far distance of her empty heart
she makes fatal choice

Lifting a gun to her own temple she decides there is only one way
One way out of her living nightmare of a life
And so with a trembling hand she pulls the trigger and fires one flawless
perfect shot

Sortacurious as to just what life on the other side might be like
