Soul To Take Poem by Daniel Bates

Soul To Take

Rating: 5.0

Not friends have I, that I can bare my soul
Yet in these words I can allow
Why? Why don't I have people to confide?
I used to, perhaps it's my pride.

For love was had, now is lost
But lost is now, many times now cost.
False pretences and shallow souls
Seems to be how it is now.

Sorrowful am I that these days can't share
These words of mine, my soul to bare.
But 'hey man, how's the ride'
Seems to be the depth of pride.

So little these days can afford,
Maybe it's me, my choice is obscured
So, anew, am I, and choices better
Must I make, to be trend setter.

Love I need, and a soul to share
For lost was once, now I can bare
To find a new soul to take
To share my words, for my sake

Dear Danial, Love and relationship always strangle our life at some point and made us feel hopeless. You beautifully captured this thought. Good things always take time. I love this poetry.

Devoutly said, we all need love and someone to give us unconditional love, someone we can trust to confide in, knowing we are safe and providing them with the same confidence in you. Really great poem, I enjoyed reading it, steady rhythm and rhyme help project your inner desires. Give it a 10! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
