The dwarf mongoose, a runner who
Up to 20 miles per hour,
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
On little legs with big power
Can race around the habitat,
A zigging, zagging ball of fur.
This mongoose is so speedy that
Visitors only see a blur.
And then the dwarf mongoose does end
The running gig to rest a while,
Facing the visitors to send
A 'whatcha think of that' big smile.
After a rest the dwarf mongoose
Does run again, fast and footloose.
