Spirit Poem by Christina Simmons

Spirit

There are thoughts of annoyance
Encircling my mind
Clouding my sight - misting up my vision

In need of nurturing, receiving tender care
Someone to talk too, just sit - who will listen
Without remaining superficial

Getting a call from anyone
Would really make a deference
Maybe possibly I need more than just that

Perhaps a friend who understands
The meaning of friendship Trust and Care
And with a smiling face

A person whom I could be sure of
A friend in tune with the self
Coming from a place of genuineness - non-critical - wholeness

Someone who could pick me up
When I'm falling only to stand me up again!
A friend without hidden blemishes
A being coming from a place of Pure sincerity.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Words to this poem came to me at a time where I was pretty lonely, simply ache for the company of others. It was a cold, raining and miserable day outside. So I thought I'd cheer myself up by writing about how I felt.
