Spirit And Truth Overcomes Carnal Poem by Barbara Blevins

Spirit And Truth Overcomes Carnal

Oh how saddening to heart to see,
A professing Christian that thinks their better than me.
Claming to be of God who sent Jesus to die at calvary,
He paid the sin debt and set us all free.
\And all through the Bible his story has been told,
His blood shed, His life paid, He was sold.
Then this prostitute was condemned by men,
But Jesus said to her go you are free from sin.
\Jesus is accused of being a sinner in John chapter nine,
A great miracle worker they shame and decline.
The pharisees say he's not of God because they are blind,
And now men say God don't hear a sinner's prayer we find.
\The blind boy was accused of being a desciple of Jesus,
Now men teach when we pray that God don't hear us.
A simple misunderstanding of scripture they do preach,
Jesus said all are sinner's, and carnal minded men falsely teach.
\On a narrow path to the cross,
Jesus gave his life for a world of loss.
He preached the word of spirit and truth like sent to do,
Persecuted, crowned with thorns, crucified Jesus they never knew.
\Jesus said to leave the 99 saved and go find the one lost,
He gave his life for this blinded world, He paid the cost.
He seeks such to worship in spirit and truth in John 4: 21-24,
Men's holy places of worship shall be no more.
