Spring Is Back Poem by Alexandro Johns

Spring Is Back

Spring is back,
despite the mistreatment
we are giving to the Earth.

Spring time,
don't pass by my side
without looking at me,
I only ask you for a tender red rose
that I will squeeze it to my chest
until I bleed:
I must return to live
with the ephemeral promise
of your inmortality.

I have suffered enough
the stories of winter
with the burning wait of your arrival,
but you are already here.
You always come back
perfumed and swift.

Spring,
I want to be reconcile with you,
running between footpaths green
and buzzing bees,
embraced to you as if it was forever,
while my dog barks of joy
around us.
