I must admit that you have done it well.
A flawless gem, as folks can surely tell.
As Kelly says, the limerick is your game,
But in this effort you have won acclaim.
Anything you try, you can rest assured
We will be amused rather than be bored.
Your verse was even better than I thought.
You set a trap for us and we were caught.
Not one of us saw through your silly whim
To hide a sneaky, secret acronym.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM

I call these square poems because they have the same number of syllables per line as there are lines. For example, a four-line poem would have four syllables in each line.
This poem has exactly one hundred syllables: ten lines with ten syllables per line.

After my friend Wes Vogler read my Square Poems 03, he decided to try a square poem of his own. He came up with a beauty, a 12 by 12 with perfect rhyme.

Nobody noticed that it was also an acrostic. He has created a masterpiece, and you need to go read it.

This is my reply to his poem.

That's Wes, not me, in the picture. I stole this picture off one of his poems.
