Stands Open Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Stands Open

I waited for long
But was proved wrong
The luck wasn’t in favor
And I was total failure

I had put all eggs in wrong basket
Then how can I blame the fate?
I must have thought this before
Before feeling sad and sore

This is how we sail through?
Even the weather was rough!
I failed to act tough
And that turned out to be cruel joke to laugh

I blame no one but self
As I hadn’t thought about treasure hidden in shelf
It was to be considered as biggest lapse
As last resort was only to shed tears

The life is meant for no business
As it is opened with more access
The opportunity lays wide open
To make hell into heaven
