Still Waiting Poem by manaswini dash

Still Waiting

Do you think-
I should have asked certain questions
to my colorless dreams
which were floating aimlessly
in the dusty brown sky?
Questions like-
why they did not care for your egoistic whims
and fled away from the confinement
of your shameless will?
I didn't feel like asking
as I didn't have any complains against them.
Today, at this old age
is there any necessity of their presence
in my oppressed and harassed life?
Did you forget the days of our youth?
Remember, how innumerable waves of my dreams
used to touch your proud manhood,
immediately after which,
lost their entity in the sea of your ego.
Still,
I did not know why and how
I kept myself mum.
Quite surprisingly, your bold and egoistic negligence
completely hypnotised me.
I torn all my dreams into small pieces
and flew them
in the infinite void of endless sky.
Today they are floating aimlessly
in the misty sky
casting a very sympathetic look at me.
But I was not disheartened.
A small candle of hope and belief
is still burning calmly.
in the deep core of my heart
And in my wretched and wrought-out life
for getting something very delightful
I am still waiting quietly.
