Stillness Of The Cemetery Poem by abu tarek md tahsin

Stillness Of The Cemetery

Rating: 5.0

When the cool summer breeze
Will embrace my grave
Beneath the old mango trees
I will rise aloft the winds
And my words will rise
Through the stillness of the cemetery

Though my body will rot and decay
But my soul will remain free
So you may sit by my grave
And listen to me singing softly

Do not offer me fake prayers
Nor flowers of fragrance
But come by my grave
To hear me softly sing
Through the cool evening breeze

Come sit by my grave
Come wait for my voice
Read me a poem
Or sing me a hymn
Or play your guitars or strings
And celebrate life in rejoice

I am not gone
To heaven or hell
No burning pyres await me
No blissful abode waits for me

But a mere mortal
That I was
Roams the air all around you
So Free

I am in the stars
Which sparkles through the night
I am in the oceans
Which rumbles and roars
I am in the dusty winds
Which dashes the city streets
I am in the lonely moon
That makes you feel so enchanting

I am not gone
To heaven or hell
No burning pyres await me
No blissful abode waits for me
