Sting Was Slant Poem by Niki Nicholas Nkuna

Wronged intentionally I struck back hard
Believing that the hurt will be felt the same way
Unfortunately I stroke standing on the subway
Consequently the sting was slant and I derived no contentment

My last word always expresses discontent
Only because the stroke was slant
Only because it happened at night and heightened my pain and anxiety
Only because he knew what was coming and was ready to receive it
I was not aware of the danger heightened by the inclement weather
Thus my original pain could not be assuaged except by resign and recline
