Stinging Mud Slingers Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Stinging Mud Slingers

When reality takes the stand.
With truth as evidence,
Repeatedly to understand it...
As clear to know,
Who threw the mud with the first throw.
No questions,
Are needed further to be asked.
Since those skilled at backstabbing.
And experts in field of deception,
Will come forward...
Without it to be announced.
They want it known,
Stinging mud slingers they are.
Coming forward to make an appearance.
To ensure those who imitate them,
Don't attempt to take all the credit...
For nasty ways.
That will never be as nasty as theirs!

"What did the judge say? "

-Not a word.
He just got up.
Took off his robe.
Kissed his gavel.
And slowly strolled out of the court.-

"Isn't that against the law? "

-By whose definition?
That's crazy! -

"Oh?
And...
Who are you going to debate,
What is and is not crazy?
Take as much time as you need.
A normalcy to find these days,
Shouldn't be any problem for you...
Finding someone,
Recognizing it to admit...
They actually remember what 'normalcy',
Was.
Or is."

-I'm going to prove you wrong.-

"Is that a threat?
Or a warning? "

-You know I'm a positive thinker! -

"So am I.
And I am positive,
This task of yours...
Will be short lived."

-He of little to no faith! -

"Remember that!
You know...
Once a mud slinger,
Begins to enjoy it.
That slinger,
Will one day come back to sting!
Just to do.
And then start to accuse others,
For their own disappoints.
Unable to admit them or face."

-Huh?
What? -
