Storm Poem by Dimitri McDaniel

Storm

I can brighten your heart like lantern
from beyond the blanketed doubts of your insecurities, so that our love should shine through
become something more, so that i may make connection.
and our love should grow-grow to become prior to genesis of mountain tops
mountains themselves shall be subverted-dwarfed,
into pebbles that we kick..kick along life's road-way..
ever. before my love and adorations
for you become their kin,
because I
im loving you like its something to win
that each moment spent away is a point in this game of love subtracted,
so love..
do divide your defenses, unclothe your heart-make it lay bare..
..you say..
'Treat it kindly for..its as glass.'
and i say 'sore must be the fumbling guy who dropped it in the past-'
'dont worry ill hold your heart like it wasnt burned, like it doesnt hurt, like it wasnt scarred.-'
'because the truth is these arms were made for you, they were made to.. filter our all the tears and water damage you endured through out the years-'
'-pretty soon..'
all hurt will dissapear.
as it fades and chips we'd blow it out the window, see the tattered shards and soaked memories fly into our rear view
but we look ahead, serenity..
shes on the horizon
she has room in chest for two hearts..were going to go meet her there.
we have our home.
the storm is over
pull back the curtains.
turn down that light.
