Stranded Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Stranded

Stranded

I was stranded in a parking lot today
And I thought no one cared I say.
But a woman locking up the store you see
Recognized my malady.

She sat in the empty parking lot
And pleased me with many comforting thoughts
She calmed me down a whole lot.
I thought this woman had empathy I sought.

This woman was one of a kind
But to this others were blind.
In the empty parking lot the cold wind blew
But this woman giving comfort knew.

I thanked here profusely you know.
She thanked me while the cold wind did blow.
Our new kinship mattered a lot
It was the friendship that I sought.
