Street Singer Poem by Dorsey Baker

Street Singer

We just sing and play
trying to brighten up
somebody's darkest day
street singer
we aintnobody
we aint got
no money
we aint got
no fame
broke as we can be
living in poverty
because
we just don't know
how to play the game
street singer
we aint nobody

people in the neighbor
hood
they come to watch us!
perform
wemay start a riot
but we don't mean no harm
street singer
we aint nobody
don't nobody take us serious
because we do it for free
we just street singers
we aint
nobody!
